I built this model for the CGS Hardcore modelling challenge. It's a Cyberdyne Systems HK model 250/F seen in the film Terminator 2.
The entire process of modelling, texturing and compositing in Photoshop took approximately four week to complete.

Given the limited reference material available, i feel that its turned out quite well .

This is the final scene containing my entry into the Star Wars Hardcore Modelling Challenge, which i won the "most epic" category with, a LAAT/i Gunship.
The paint scheme was inspired by the "Clone Wars" animated series and transposed into an Episode 2 setting "Battle of Geonosis"
It took around 6 weeks (not continuously) work to finish, with all the modelled done in 3D max and post work done using Photoshop

1953 Ferrari F2

A recent post by Machadoj reminded me that i had not yet submitted my final render of a Ferrari F2 that i completed last month.
It was mostly built using photographs as the blueprints i had were not very accurate.

The Ferrari F2 was driven to 2 successive World championships by Alberto Ascari in 1952/53. He also won 9 consecutive races in it, a record that still stands today.
This model is depicted in Ascari's race number (46) that he used at the 1953 Swiss GP, a race which he set the fastest lap, won the race and secured the Championship. It was also to be his last ever F1 race finish.
In 1954 he moved to Lancia but unreliability meant, despite several pole positions, he would never complete a race distance.
Tragically in 1955 he died testing a Ferrari sports car at Monza at the corner that now bears his name.

THe original plan for the scene was a street race but my computer wasn't keen on letting more than one truck in a scene.

This is a model of a Willy's jeep from WW2. I tried to make it as accurate as i could using the reference material available.
When it came to texturing it i decided that there was just too many spotlessly clean CG vehicles around so i went for a dirty, well used look.
I have spent longer on this model than any previous work in my relatively short 3D life, and hopefully that shows.
I may go for something cleaner next time, but then again.

I have tried to make it a close to reality as possible, but reference images were hard to find, and the wheels change from year to year.
